Great satisfaction for the historic cellar, which can now count Chianti Classico Docg Gran Selezione “Madonnino Della Pieve”, among the Top 100 Italian wines. This award was concieved by the well-known journalists Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti.
The prestigious recognition was delivered to Paladin family during the official ceremony on Sunday 6 November at Mico Agorà Area – Milano Congressi, during “Golosaria” exhibition.
Madonnino Della Pieve is the last born in Castelvecchi, after Capotondo Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva Lodolaio. Produced in just 5.000 bottles, its name recalls Santa Maria Novella church.
The vineyard where the grapes of Madonnino are produced, 100 % Sangiovese, is one of the jewels of Chianti vineyards: its old vineyards convoluted by time, located between woods and olive groves, express the strength of the authentic Tuscan landscape.
This vineyard, among the oldest in Chianti, provides exceptional bunches which produce, through multiple harvests and wisely treated, the extraordinary complexity of a memorable wine like Madonnino della Pieve Gran Selezione.
“A great satisfaction for an ambitious product – says Lucia Paladin, owner, with the brothers Carlo and Roberto of Premiata Fattoria di Castelvecchi – a recognition, not only for Casa Paladin, but also for all the Tuscan Wine World, an incentive to improve more and more. Madonnino, already widely appreciated by the international critic (Wine Enthusiast, Gilbert & Gaillard), receives now a new recognition of its quality “.
“This selection – declare Paolo Massobrio and Marco Gatti – represents the real trends in production. The choice to not reward the cellars winners of the past editions has become a method that requires us to discover the surprising news of the Italian Enology “.
