“A sunny blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Syrah, the 2015 Premiata Fattoria di Castelvecchi Solana is a full-bodied and generous Tuscan red from a warm vintage. The wine opens to dark fruit, bold cherry, blackberry, spice and sweet tobacco. It is texturally rich, soft and round to the very last sip. “Opening to dark color and thick concentration, the 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Premiata Fattoria di Castelvecchi Madonnino della Pieve is essentially a great steak wine. It oozes forth with black fruit, cherry confit and blackberry preserves, and those ripe fruit tones are quickly followed by sweet baking spice, campfire ash and soft potting soil. This is a full-bodied Tuscan red with a touch of crushed black pepper on the close.”
